The acronym HaBiFo stands for household in research and education.
HaBiFo is a nationwide professional association that represents household-related education and brings together experts from research, teaching and educational practice. Our topic is nutrition and consumer education. New didactic and scientific research results and current challenges in teaching, schools and educational practice are the subject of discourse and are the drive to further develop our subject, to represent it politically and to promote young talent.
Our regular specialist conferences at different universities for teacher-education of household-related education in the D-A-CH region with pre-conferences of the NEO junior research group and D-A-CH workshops are central information and exchange platforms for science and educational practice. With our HaBifo Prize is awarded for excellent final theses in teaching and publicised.
The Journal HiBiFo is published four times a year with didactic articles. Our HaBiFo newsletter provides monthly information about calls, events, prizes, tenders, new publications, best-practice examples and much more.
The professional association provides space through committees and working groups to work together, network and become effective in terms of professional policy, such as the HaBiFo-NEO network for young researchers.
As a cooperation partner of the online lecture series for student teachers, we created a virtual space each semester to learn about the research activities of colleagues and to integrate findings relevant to didactics into our educational practice.
The D-A-CH network EVB (Nutrition and Consumer Education) makes the collegial exchange and the long-standing relationship with partner associations in Austria and Switzerland visible and gives household-related education greater weight in terms of policy as well.
Together with our members, we combine competencies for nutrition and consumer education. We invite all stakeholders in household-related education to actively participate and to benefit from the advantages of the professional association membership.
